WOW, who else loved Obama on Prime Time last night? I thought he did an awsome job. I really believe that he has what it takes to turn this country around. It seems to me like he gets what is happening with the middle class. He highlighted stories that aren’t the exceptions, but the majority. When the first woman came on and was talking about the price of things, her husband needing surgery but they can’t afford it, I felt like I was watching my story, except for the husband needing surgery part. When the elderly couples story came on about how the gentleman had retired, yet had to work because of his wifes health problems, and the price of meds, I was watching my grandfather’s story. I truely believe that this man can and will take the United States back to a place where life is good again. He stuck to the issues and that makes him far better than McCain.

Speaking of which who is tired of hearing McCain/Palin speak? Again I am an independant, and I watch the news constantly. But when you have the Rupublican ticket at rallies complaining that there feelings are hurt because someone said something, or complaining that the LA Times is in Obama’s back pocket, by the way McCain was head of a committee that gave over $800,000 to the PLO, the group headed by the man they are attacking Obama for knowing-that doesn’t make you justified, it makes you PATHETIC. IF they spent the same amount of time, talking about issues and what they will do for this country as they did complaining and crying about hurt feelings, they may have had a chance. I am glad that they did show there true colors though, I really don’t want a buch of cry babies running the White House, let alone a VP that was part of a group trying to secede from the United States.

As always let me know what you think!

How many people out there have accounts with Wells Fargo? If you do I am telling you to close it now!!! If not you will be sorry and I can guarantee this. I have been fighting with them for 7 years now and I can tell you that all of them are a bunch of DICKS! My problems started with them in 2002. I had banked with them for 4 years. In August of 2002 I transferred my car loan to another bank, and closed my checking and Line of Credit. First in 2001 they turned me over to Chex Systems for my checking account that when I closed it was at a 0 balance, but I thought “Hay, I’m 21 I probably messed up somewhere” and payed the account. Then in 2005 I was turned over for my Line of Credit. I thought that was odd, but again thought, “hay I was 21 I probably messed up on this too” Then I found out that from 2003-2006 they had listed my car loan as 30 to 90 days past due and had 2 repos on it per year. Yes all after the loan was paid off. I started disputing the repos and late payments, sending in copies of the check showing the dates and they always came back saying they could verify this information. I would ask them for the documentation and was told it was in the mail, YEAH RIGHT. I never received it. Finally in 2007 I sent a complaint with the OCC, and after a month was told, you guessed it, Wells Fargo could verify the information!!!! While talking with my bank I was told to stop fighting it, that if I did Wells Fargo could re-age the account and it could be on my credit report for 7 more years. I gave up and thought whatever. Then in July of this year I get a phone call from a collections agency, I had been turned over from WELLS FARGO. I informed them I had not had any accounts with Wells Fargo for almost 7 years and to leave me alone. They apologized, and then in September I get a phone call from the collections agency again. I picked up the phone and a gentleman by the name of Andy Ryan starts telling my about this account. The conversations was nice at first. Laughing, Joking, which is probably why my four year old daughter picked up the extension to say hi, just in time to hear this man get very rude, and start screaming at me that I am a deadbeat, he was going to take me to court, it’s not his fault I don’t pay my bills, ect. My daughter hangs up the phone and starts crying, asking why he was saying that. I contacted the WF branch in my home town and told them I had had enough and that this was going to get straightened out. They actually told me to “Pay it again, and I would be left alone.” So I sent a letter to the Home Equity Executive office, where complaints like this are handled, and told them everything that I had gone through and due to WF’s carelessness over the last 7 years I have been denied credit, had to pay outrages interest on auto loans, and have been harassed. I told them that I this was my last attempt to resolve this matter with them, other than that I would have my attorney call them. I informed them I was willing to settle this matter if they removed everything off my credit report, stopped the harassment, and paid 50,000 for damages. So I have been working with a women in the Wells Fargo Home Equity Executive Branch for over a month now. She has given me updates every week and last week told me that through all there research they could not find one ounce of proof for what they were putting on my credit report. She apologized, and said it would be removed, and that I would have a decision regarding the damages, that it was up to the legal department and the VP over the collections department to make the decision. Well they came back and said that they are going to remove the wrong information, the information that they don’t have proof of as a courtesy, and that they would not be paying damages. I informed them removing negative information that the don’t have proof of is not a courtesy, it is complying with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, they disagreed. I guess that Wells Fargo thinks they are above the FCRA, and that when they comply with a Federal Law, it’s not because the have to, but a courtesy. We should all be so thankful.

Hello All, are you just as excited for this election to be over as I am? Not just to usher in a new time, but to get the damn adds off of the TV? I am so tired of the negativity and the smugness coming from some candidates, and I can’t understand for the life of me why some people are willing to hate someone so much, just because the party the are apart of, or why nominees have a do as I say and not as I do attitude. Now I am a complete independent, I will not vote for you just because you are a Republican or Democrat, I want to hear what you are going to do before I say you have my vote, but I have to tell you John McCain, man oh man. Here are just a few questions that I would like to ask this man, and his running mate Sarah Palin

Why is it that you make such a big deal about Obama’s minister, yet don’t believe Palin’s should be an issue, when there is video tape of this man laying hands on her infront of the congregation, praying that “she be kept safe from the witchcraft” during elections. Not to mention this man in Africa ran women out of villages or had them murdered because he decided they were witches.

Why is it that you are slamming Obama for being on a committee with William Ayres, when the committee was formed by a McCain supporter? If Obama is wrong for being on the committee shouldn’t your billionaire contributor be wrong for having him on the committee? Isn’t he and his wife then also guilty of “paling around with terrorists” as you and your running mate have said of Obama?

You attended and anti-gay rally and one of the guest speakers that you chummed around with praised a women who had just shot an OB/GYN because he performed legal abortions. This woman who made the speech is now a delegate of yours, and the woman who shot the Dr. was called a terrorist by the judge. Aren’t you guilty of “paling around with terrorists” as defined by our judicial system, and do you believe in vigilante justice?

In 1999, during a campaign swing through California, you challenged conservatives and said you did not support overturning Roe v Wade. You stated that a reversal could lead some women to undergo illegal and dangerous operations. After conservatives when nuts, you backtracked ans said you did favor the repeal of Roe, adding however that is might lead to dangerous illegal abortions. A day later, your campaign issued a “clarification,” and by that time you were saying that is elected president you would actually work to overturn the court’s decision. Any concerns over the effects of illegal abortions disappeared overnight in the cold clear light of must win. What changed so much, and who are you to decide what women should do in a tough situation?

You voted against the Bush tax cuts as a senator, but now say you would make the permanent as president, again what changed your mind?

You cosponsored a bill in 2005 to make it easier for those in the country illegally to become citizens, but now say that if this bill, your bill, came to a vote on the Senate floor, you would vote against it…yet again what changed?

Sen James Webb has been trying to nail you down on a revamped GI Bill that would fund education for veterans, but the closest you have come to a position is to say you need to examine it more closely. If you can’t multitask as you campaign, can you really do it as President?

In 2000 you were asked about the Confederate battle flag, which flew from the capitol dome is South Carolina. You first called it “a symbol of racism and slavery,” then backed off with a “clarification” that described it as a “symbol of heritage.” Later you admitted, “I feared that if I answered honestly, I could no win the South Carolina primary. So I chose to compromise my principals.” What other principals are you compromising Mr. McCain?

In your 2002 memoir you stated “I wanted them to think me still an honest man, who simply had to cut a corner a Little here and there so that I could go on to be an honest president.” Which corners are you cutting, the ones I agree with, or the ones I don’t?

In my opinion, McCain is an angry man. When I watched him on the debates I found him smug, arrogant, having to have the last word, unwilling to listen, hot headed, and angry. This is not someone that I want representing my country, and that is why I am voting for Barack Obama. What about you?

It Dividend. To make the math simple, let’s assume there are 200,000,000 Citizens 18+.

Our population is about 301,000,000 +/- counting every man, woman and child. So 200,000,000 might be a fair stab at adults 18 and up..

Divide 200 million adults 18+ into $85 billon that equals 425,000.00. My plan is to give $425,000 to every person 18+ as a We Deserve It Dividend.

Of course, it would NOT be tax free. Let’s assume a tax rate of 30%. Every individual 18+ has to pay $127,500.00 in taxes. That sends $25,500,000,000 right back to Uncle Sam. But it means that every adult 18+ has $297,500.00 in their pocket.

A husband and wife team has $595,000.00. What would you do with $297,500.00 to $595,000.00 in your family? Pay off your mortgage – housing crisis solved. Repay college loans – what a great boost to new grads. Put away money for college – it’ll be there. Save in a bank – create money to loan to entrepreneurs. Buy a new car – create jobs. Invest in the market – capital drives growth. Pay for your parent’s medical insurance – health care improves. Enable Deadbeat Dads to come clean – or else.

Remember this is for every adult US Citizen 18+ including the folks who lost their jobs at Lehman Brothers and every other company that is cutting back. And, of course, for those serving in our Armed Forces.

If we’re going to re-distribute wealth let’s really do it…instead of trickling out a puny $1000.00 “vote buy” economic incentive that is being
proposed by one of our candidates for President.

If we’re going to do an $85 billion bailout, let’s bail out every adult US Citizen 18+!

As for AIG – liquidate it. Sell off its parts. Let American General go back to being American General. Sell off the real estate.

Let the private sector bargain hunters cut it up and clean it up.

Here’s my rationale. We deserve it and AIG doesn’t. Sure it’s a crazy idea that can “never work.” But can you imagine the Coast-To-Coast Block Party!

How do you spell Economic Boom?

I trust my fellow adult Americans to know how to use the $85 billion.

We Deserve It Dividend more than do the geniuses at AIG or in Washington .

And remember, The Birk plan only really costs $59.5 Billion because 25.5 Billion is returned instantly in taxes to Uncle Sam.

Nice thought but with 85 billion and with 200 million people that would equal 425 dollars per person. 85 trillion dollars with 200 million people would equal 425,000 dollars.

My family and I are considered middle class, and it is no secret what is happening to the middle class right now. We are all feeling the pressure from the mortgage meltdown. Gas prices are soaring, as well as the price of groceries. It used to be when I went to the store my grocery bill was around $150.00 and that would last us for 1.5 weeks. Now it is around $300.00, I spend $75.00 a month on milk and eggs. Our insurance co-pays have gone up, and now the middle class must try to figure out how to pay for Dr. visits and medications on top of all other bills, or even if they can afford to get to the Dr’s office. I know that no mater what party you are from, we can all agree this is no way to live.

The government has been lowering interest rates for banks and giving them billions of dollars in hopes the banks would lend to the American People. We all know this has not happened, and now you have the tough job to vote on whether to give them $700 Billion more, and pass that bill off to the tax payers. However Mr. Paulson has stated he hopes this effect will trickle down to main street, but that not every homeowner will be saved. So won’t this mess continue if after the $700 Billion bailout of Wall Street we are still facing foreclosures? The housing market has no floor right now and I think what we need to do is create that floor.

So here is my plan. Let’s find out how much money Middle America has in mortgages, whether they be good or bad mortgages, and tell the banks that they must take this as payment in full for all of them. Middle America now has no mortgages. People who have lost their homes, as long as it has not been sold already get there house back. This will allow the market to reset, bringing housing prices back down to where they should be, instead of their over inflated prices.

The first thing that Middle America will do is head straight to the bank and consolidate other bills, i.e. credit cards, cars they are upside down in because of gas prices, and invest in home improvements using their home equity. Banks will now be giving loans again, Middle America will be spending again, yet they will also be putting money back into there savings accounts, and investing in the stock market. This will strengthen the dollar and gas prices may start to decline.

How do we pay for this? Simple. It took two parties to make this mess, the banks in the mortgages they provided, and the American Consumer who agreed to these loans. The banks will agree to pay a certain amount of their profits each year back to the government, and since the government has paid off the mortgages of Middle America we can not file a tax deduction for the interest we paid on our mortgage before this bill went into effect, and if we choose to refinance the house, we can not file a tax deduction later on down the line. We will also raise taxes on the Middle Americans who‘s mortgages were paid off, not to God Awful much, but enough to help payback this money, and hold their Federal Tax Return. Also with more discretionary spending going on the government will be recouping some of the money from other taxes. After this amount is recovered, everything will go back as usual. Also during this time the government and financial industry will work together to form an oversight committee, and bring in new regulations to make sure this never happens again.

If you will think of this problem as a ladder. The bottom rungs are middle class, the middle rungs are our economy, and the top rungs are banks and Wall Street. When the middle rungs broke (the economy) it made the lower and top rungs weaker (the middle class and the financial district). So instead of trying to fix the top and hope the ladder holds on, why not fix the base of the ladder and let the higher levels enjoy a better foundation? It was Main Street who helped build Wall Street, given the opportunity it can save it too.

As always let me know what you think

O.K, so I was watching Glenn Beck tonight, I just love that man even though I am an independant who usually votes Democrat, and it got me, well….PISSED! So as I normally do when I am fired up I send e-mails and make phone calls. I thought I would let you read the e-mail I just sent to Nancy Pelosi, I also altered it a little and sent it to my Congressmen and Women for my beautiful state. What do you think, is it to bitchy? Do you agree? Disaggree? Let me know what you think…

Dear Madam Speaker,

I doubt you will ever read this as according to everyone in Washington I am a nobody. You won’t waste your time listening to my concerns, it is for peace of mind that I write this, so I can tell my children that I am trying to make my voice heard among a bunch of deaf people. Madam Speaker I have to say, I am not a Bush person. Never voted for the man, never liked the man. But you severely disappointed me today. Saying he needs to give the American People an apology? I think you all owe us an apology. You have all sat there and put our country in this turmoil. People are loosing there homes, there jobs, young children are living on the street! If you ask me what is wrong with Washington it’s the fact that no one cares about the “middle class” anymore. Let me correct myself since there is no middle class anymore, the poor class. Why don’t you guys talk to us, instead of at us? Why don’t you once a quarter have a group of us that you sit down with and listen to our concerns, instead of voting for pay raises for yourselves or standing by and letting the fed bail out AIG when they don’t even have the authority to do so. Instead you let it happen and then call meetings to discuss it, how much of my tax dollars are going to be spent to do this. How much overtime is congress going to pay themselves? As congress you should have instantly halted the bail out. I have a 4 year old little girl and a 1 year old little boy, what kind of country are we leaving them? What kind of country do they have now?

Sincerely,

Mel

(Phone numbers deleted)

P.S Please don’t have anyone from you office call me to give me a fluff speech on how Washington does care about what used to be the middle class, it’s insulting. If you would like to have an honest conversation feel free. It might be reassuring for us to know that our voices are not on deaf ears anymore.

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees.. I don’t feel threatened. I don’t feel discriminated against. That’s what they are: Christmas trees.

It doesn’t bother me a bit when people say, ‘Merry Christmas’ to me. I don’t think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn’t bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a crèche, it’s just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don’t like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don’t think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can’t find it in the Constitution and I don’t like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship Nick and Jessica and we aren’t allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that’s a sign that I’m getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where Nick and Jessica came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it’s not funny, it’s intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham’s daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her ‘How could God let something like this happen?’ (regarding Katrina) Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, ‘I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we’ve been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?’

In light of recent events… terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O’Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn’t want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock’s son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he’s talking about. And we said OK.

Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with ‘WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.’

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world’s going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says Funny how you can send ‘jokes’ through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you’re not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit. If not then just discard it… no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don’t sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.
