How many people out there have accounts with Wells Fargo?  If you do I am telling you to close it now!!!  If not you will be sorry and I can guarantee this.  I have been fighting with them for 7 years now and I can tell you that all of them are a bunch of DICKS!  My problems started with them in 2002.  I had banked with them for 4 years.  In August of 2002 I transferred my car loan to another bank, and closed my checking and Line of Credit.  First in 2001 they turned me over to Chex Systems for my checking account that when I closed it was at a 0 balance, but I thought “Hay, I’m 21 I probably messed up somewhere” and payed the account.  Then in 2005 I was turned over for my Line of Credit.  I thought that was odd, but again thought, “hay I was 21 I probably messed up on this too”  Then I found out that from 2003-2006 they had listed my car loan as 30 to 90 days past due and had 2 repos on it per year.  Yes all after the loan was paid off.  I started disputing the repos and late payments, sending in copies of the check showing the dates and they always came back saying they could verify this information.  I would ask them for the documentation and was told it was in the mail, YEAH RIGHT.  I never received it.  Finally in 2007 I sent a complaint with the OCC, and after a month was told, you guessed it, Wells Fargo could verify the information!!!!  While talking with my bank I was told to stop fighting it, that if I did Wells Fargo could re-age the account and it could be on my credit report for 7 more years.  I gave up and thought whatever.  Then in July of this year I get a phone call from a collections agency, I had been turned over from WELLS FARGO.  I informed them I had not had any accounts with Wells Fargo for almost 7 years and to leave me alone.  They apologized, and then in September I get a phone call from the collections agency again.  I picked up the phone and a gentleman by the name of Andy Ryan starts telling my about this account.  The conversations was nice at first.  Laughing, Joking, which is probably why my four year old daughter picked up the extension to say hi, just in time to hear this man get very rude, and  start screaming at me that I am a deadbeat, he was going to take me to court, it’s not his fault I don’t pay my bills, ect.  My daughter hangs up the phone and starts crying, asking why he was saying that.  I contacted the WF branch in my home town and told them I had had enough and that this was going to get straightened out.  They actually told me to “Pay it again, and I would be left alone.”  So I sent a letter to the Home Equity Executive office, where complaints like this are handled, and told them everything that I had gone through and due to WF’s carelessness over the last 7 years I have been denied credit, had to pay outrages interest on auto loans, and have been harassed.  I told them that I this was my last attempt to resolve this matter with them, other than that I would have my attorney call them.  I informed them I was willing to settle this matter if they removed everything off my credit report, stopped the harassment, and paid 50,000 for damages.  So I have been working with a women in the Wells Fargo Home Equity Executive Branch for over a month now.  She has given me updates every week and last week told me that through all there research they could not find one ounce of proof for what they were putting on my credit report.  She apologized, and said it would be removed, and that I would have a decision regarding the damages, that it was up to the legal department and the VP over the collections department to make the decision.  Well they came back and said that they are going to remove the wrong information, the information that they don’t have proof of as a courtesy, and that they would not be paying damages.  I informed them removing negative information that the don’t have proof of is not a courtesy, it is complying with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, they disagreed.  I guess that Wells Fargo thinks they are above the FCRA, and that when they comply with a Federal Law, it’s not because the have to, but a courtesy.  We should all be so thankful.
